Dr. Ayad Aldaijy joined the Ministry of Environment, Water & Agriculture as Adviser to the Minister and Chief Information Officer (CIO) in September 2015, bringing a wealth of experience of 27 years, working in government and global organizations, managing and delivering mission critical systems. In this new role, Dr. Aldaijy plays a key role in the continued development of the Ministry, serving as an integral and strategic member of its senior management team, and is primarily responsible for the management of the Ministry’s present and future information technology services position, and building a strong and capable team to support the Ministry’s business and operations. He led and engaged with strategic planning, Organizational Integration: Mergers and Acquisitions, Digital Transformation, IT, Cyber Security, Consulting, Drive smarter technology, Big Data, PMO, Change Management, ERP implementation, Research and Analysis, and Organizational Performance Improvement.

 Abdulrahman is a published author in the areas of water quality and reuse, and privatization of water sector. He is a champion for innovative projects to implement smart technology in daily operational management.

Mohamed Farouk

Dr. Farouk has more than 27 years of academic and technical experiences; where he participated in many water resources and environmental engineering projects throughout the Middle East and Africa. He was awarded his PhD from University of Manchester. He is a professor in water resources in Imam and Ain Shams Universities. He is the co-author of four books in hydraulic structures. At Dar Al-Handasah Consulting Group; he was the head of CFD unit and a project manager for different projects such as the third Holy Harm expansion, King Abdul-Aziz Endowment, Jabal Omar, Muzdalefa storm water dams, bulk reservoir& Mujib spillway.

Fadi Shatnawi

Mr. Shatnawi is the Head of Infrastructure Department at Archen Engineering Consultant, an engineering consultancy firm that practices project management in Saudi Arabia.He is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States of America; he holds two master Degrees in Water Resource Engineering and is a PhD candidate at the University of South Carolina in The USA.He has around 20 years’ experience in infrastructure engineering and management and with focus on Storm water and flood mitigation and water networks.His past experience is mostly in the United States where he worked for consultancy firms, State Agencies and Municipalities as a water resource engineering specialist and project manager.He published and participated in several publications in the field of flood mitigation and storm water management and participated in several conferences on the subject

Atef Nooh

Dr. Ghazi Al Rawas

Assistant Professor, Sultan Qaboos University, Oman

Dr. Ghazi Al-Rawas is Assistant Dean for Training and Community Service, College of Engineering, and Assistant Professor in Civil and Architectural Engineering Department, Sultan Qaboos University (SQU). He completed his PhD in Civil (Geomatics) Engineering from the University of Calgary, Canada, 2009.  He obtained his MSc in Environmental Remote Sensing and GIS from Boston University, USA, 2001, and his B.Eng. in Civil Engineering, SQU, 1997. His research interests in remote sensing and GIS in multi-hazards and risk assessment: extreme events include flash floods and climate change. He is participating in a number of strategic research/consultancy projects in Oman. He is member in UNESCO International Hydrological Program (IHP) Committee, and IAESTE-Oman National Secretary.

Dr. Babak Bozorgy

Dr. Babak Bozorgy is a Chartered Professional Principal Civil/Water Engineer with a PhD in Water Resources Engineering and over 20 years of experience in design of hydraulic structures and wet utilities and water resources planning and management studies in different countries such as Australia, Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Iran. His completed projects vary from master planning, feasibility studies, conceptual, preliminary and detailed design of flood mitigation measures, stormwater drainage schemes, water supply and distribution networks, dams, hydraulic structures, hydropower schemes and irrigation schemes. Babak has published several technical and research papers in major scientific journals and international conferences and taught undergraduate Civil Engineering courses as a university lecturer, including Fluid Mechanics, Hydrology, Hydraulics, Design of Hydraulic Structures, Environmental Engineering and Water and Wastewater Engineering.

Andreas Amft (Dipl. Wirtschafts.-Ing.) is a graduate industrial engineer with a major in marketing & economics at ENREGIS GmbH, Germany. As the CEO and majority shareholder of the company ENREGIS GmbH, Germany he is responsible for the global, worldwide business and the strategic positioning of the company. His professional career began in the company Wilo mbH/Germany in 1992 (WILO AG). In 2008 he founded the company ENREGIS GmbH, Germany. Its specialization is in storm-, rainwater and process water systems. His professional research interests focus on cleaning the rainwater runoff from highly polluted areas like from highways, airport runways or from all kind of industrial zones. His second profession is the development of modern rainwater storage-/ infiltration systems and monitoring systems.

He writes editorials on the subject Storm Water Management in Urban Areas for various publishers. In his different functions he is advising governments, municipalities as well as local authorities, planning departments, holds/held seminars and makes presentations e.g. at the 4th International Workshops on RWH, Soul Korea, Symposium „Rainwater – Stormwater Management“ at the WASSER BERLIN INTERNATIONAL 2013, Doha/Qatar Drainage & Sewerage Middle East 2015 – Sustainable in Practice, Budapest Water Conference and Water Industry Expo / European Water Association’s (EWA) in 2015 or at the New perspectives in urban drainage at the Bern University of Applied Sciences, Switzerland 2015.

Eng. Rashid al Rashdi

Engr. Rasheed Al Rashedi is Head of Section at Municipality of Abu Dhabi City responsible for the Infrastructure maintenance. Engr. Rasheed was the key force behind the successful establishment of stormwater maintenance management in the city of Abu Dhabi. Having entrusted with this responsibility by the Municipality; Engr. Al Rashedi with his sheer determination and facing all odds and challenges and with astute leadership qualities established the stormwater teams, its consultants and contractors. The ADM has achieved direct management of stormwater Projects towards the second year of the maintenance project progress due to his successful endeavors. Engr. Rasheed after completing his Bachelors in Civil Engineering and have been working with the Municipality from 2009 and has gained extensive management experience in the disciplines of Maintenance Engineer, Project Manager and Head of Section in Road Maintenance, City Image Development, Stormwater Infrastructure Management and Infrastructure Maintenance and Development projects; he has gained knowledge through special trainings in Strategic and Quality Management from various parts of the world.

Dr. Amr El-Agroudy is an expert in the area of stormwater management and water resources with 26 years of experience in North America, the UK and the Middle East. He obtained his Ph.D. from Concordia University, Montreal - Canada in 1999 - his M.Sc. from the University of Southampton, UK in 1994 and his B.Sc. from Cairo University in 1989. Dr. El-Agroudy acquired both industrial and academic through working for government departments, leading consulting firms and recognised academic institutions. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Florida, USA and he is currently working as a technical advisor to the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, UAE.

Maher Ezzeddine

Maher Ezzeddine is a Civil Engineer with over 11 years of experience in large infrastructure projects in Asia and North Africa, particularly in the design of stormwater drainage systems and in the field of hydrology. He has contributed to projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, UAE, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Iraq, Morocco, Oman and Syria. Maher’s experience in KSA, specifically in the field of hydrology, is demonstrated through his involvement in major strategic projects such as: Haramein High Speed Rail, Mashaer Metro Station, North-South Railway Project, and others.

Maher is currently the Head of the Land, Water and Environment Department at SETSintl and is leading the infrastructure track on King Abdul-Aziz Road Development Project among several other projects.

Maher is also highly proficient in a wide array of hydrology and hydraulic software including but not limited to StormCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS and Culvert Master.

Emile Zankoul

Emile Zankoul is a Civil Engineer with experience in large infrastructure projects in the Middle East. His experience covers areas including project management, engineering design and BIM coordination. Emile is currently leading the BIM efforts related to roads and utilities on King Abdul-Aziz Road Development Project.

Emile holds a Master’s Degree in Construction Engineering Management from the American University of Beirut with a research focus on simulation, visualization and optimization of construction operations as well as the application of Information Technology in engineering and construction, including several publications.

Emile has also received several certifications including the LEED Green Associate (from USGBC), Certified Associate in Project Management (from PMI) and has attended an Executive BIM Training administrated by the Stanford University. He is also proficient in several BIM software including Revit, Civil 3D and Navisworks.
