Dr. Mohamed Farouk

Prof. Dr. Farouk is the first professor of the environmental fluid mechanics in Egypt. He is an expert of CFD " computational fluid dynamics modeling" 3D modeling. Along more than 10 years, Dr. Farouk developed more than 26 models for many real problems at Dar Al Handasah. In addition he has published more than 17 journal/conference papers in the CFD field .

He has established CFD consultancy for 3D numerical modeling as the first office in Egypt and in the Middle East is Specialist in Numerical modeling.

He has established CFD unit at Dar Al-Hanadash as the first firm in the middle east established such Unit.

For more than 20years; Dr. Farouk has participated in the design of many different projects including pressurized networks (Water supply, Fire fighting & Irrigation networks), gravity networks (sewerage networks & storm drainage networks), Hydraulic structures (Dams, spillways, dam outlets and weirs) and Road drainage projects.

Dr. Farouk participated in the design of many projects in different countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Dubai, Oman, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt, Libya, Lebanon, Algeria, Nigeria, Angola and Ethiopia.

Imteyaz Ahmad

Head of Desalination, WSP Middle East

Imteyaz Ahmad has a wide range of experience in power and water generation plants. His work on desalination mainly focused on SWRO technology though he has worked extensively on thermal desalination technologies as well including MED and MSF. In addition to desalination, he has good technological back ground in power plant technologies. He is keenly interested in renewable energy for power and water generation and worked extensively on solar CSP and PV projects. He is a PMI, USA certified project and risk management professional and his experience includes power and water plants project management, contracts management, schedule planning, project risk evaluation, erection, commissioning and troubleshooting, performance and reliability tests, operation and maintenance and others.

In his current role, he provides technical and commercial leadership on the power and desalination projects across the GCC, EPC/IWPP/IPP/IWP tender preparation and execution, technical and commercial review of tenders for power and desalination projects, design review, project construction supervision and commissioning management, project development services for IWPP/IPP/IWP projects. He is well versed in the review of power and water project agreements including PPA/WPA/PWPA, EPC, O&M, LTSA, NGSA/FSA and others. He has also reviewed project financial models for various power and water developments projects as part of lenders technical due diligence.

His current focus is to grow the water desalination business for the company and he is extensively involved in the business development activities and proposals. In addition this, he is currently involved in strategic planning for new business areas for creating new revenue streams for the power and water business.
